1. Scope of Services
We provide a range of private ultrasound scans including pregnancy scans (2D, 3D/4D, early pregnancy, gender, growth, presentation) and general health scans (abdominal, urinary tract, and thyroid).
All scans are performed by qualified, experienced sonographers using modern, high-quality ultrasound equipment.
2. Safety of Ultrasound Scanning
Ultrasound is a non-invasive, radiation-free imaging technique that has been widely used for decades and is considered extremely safe for both adults and unborn babies.
There is no known risk associated with the medical use of diagnostic ultrasound when operated by trained professionals within recommended guidelines.
Our clinic follows all professional standards to ensure the wellbeing, safety, and comfort of every patient throughout the scanning process.
3. Pregnancy Scans – Non-Diagnostic Purpose
Our baby scans are offered for bonding, reassurance, and personal interest. They are not a substitute for NHS diagnostic scans or maternity care.
We do not screen for anomalies or provide diagnostic evaluations unless explicitly stated.
If a potential issue is incidentally observed, our sonographer will advise the patient to seek further medical advice from their midwife, GP, or consultant.
4. General Health Scans
Our general scans are provided for reassurance, monitoring, or private referral purposes.
We provide a written report, and patients are responsible for seeking appropriate follow-up with their GP or healthcare provider.
These scans are not intended to replace any urgent or emergency medical evaluation.
5. Booking, Cancellation & Refunds
Appointments must be booked in advance, and full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed.
Cancellations made with at least 24 hours’ notice may be rescheduled or refunded.
Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a cancellation fee.
6. Image Quality
Image clarity can be affected by multiple factors such as fetal position, gestational age, maternal build, or abdominal scarring. While we make every effort to obtain clear images, no guarantee can be made regarding the outcome.
If the gender cannot be determined or image quality is poor, we may offer a free rescan, subject to clinic discretion.
7. Patient Consent
By attending your scan, you confirm your understanding of the scan’s purpose, limitations, and the fact that it does not replace NHS or urgent care services.
You give your consent for the scan to be performed and understand that any findings will be shared with you at the time of the appointment or in a report.
8. Confidentiality & Data Protection
All patient data is stored securely and processed in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
We will never share your information with third parties without your consent unless required by law.
9. Clinic Environment
We strive to maintain a welcoming, clean, and calm environment for all patients. Support persons are welcome to attend scans where appropriate.
Our team is committed to dignity, respect, and cultural sensitivity for all clients.
10. Limitation of Liability
While every effort is made to provide accurate and high-quality ultrasound services, Ultrasound Centre does not accept liability for any misdiagnosis, missed findings, or interpretation errors.
Ultrasound has known limitations, and patients are encouraged to consult their GP or healthcare provider for medical advice and follow-up care.
These scans are provided as part of a private, non-urgent service and should not be used as a substitute for emergency or NHS diagnostic pathways.
