What’s Included in Your Early Pregnancy Scan:
- 30 minute appointment. Please arrive 5 minutes early
- Confirmation of pregnancy location to exclude ectopic pregnancy
- Visualisation of your baby’s heartbeat, where detectable
- Measurement of the embryo to estimate gestational age
- Confirmation of single or multiple pregnancy
- Well-being assessment of the uterus, ovaries, and cervix
- Dedicated time to ask questions and discuss findings
- 2 printed images to take home
- Digital images included at no additional cost
- Printed scan report for your records or GP
This scan is initially performed transabdominally. If further clarity is required, an internal ultrasound may be offered during the same appointment. This is entirely optional and performed only with your consent.

Eligibility:
This service is available to patients aged 18 years and over.
Identification may be requested where age verification is required.
Are you undergoing IVF or Fertility Treatment?
If you are currently undergoing IVF and require follicle tracking, endometrial lining assessment, or fertility-related pelvic monitoring before pregnancy confirmation, this is a different type of appointment from an Early Pregnancy Scan.
