This package includes a dating scan together with the NIPT Standard blood test. It is suitable for patients who would like pregnancy confirmation and dating completed before the blood sample is taken.

What’s included

How it works

The appointment begins with a 20-minute dating scan. If the scan confirms that you are at least 10 weeks pregnant, the blood sample is taken during the same visit for NIPT Standard screening.

Important information

• The ultrasound scan can be carried out earlier in pregnancy, but the blood test can only be taken once you are at least 10 weeks pregnant
• If the scan shows that you are earlier than 10 weeks, we will need to rebook the blood draw for a later date
• This test is suitable for single and twin pregnancies, including IVF pregnancies
• For twin pregnancies, results reflect the pregnancy overall

The NIPT Advanced test provides a broader assessment of your baby’s genetic health, screening for a wider range of chromosomal conditions for additional reassurance during pregnancy.

• You are at least 10 weeks pregnant
• You would like more detailed screening beyond standard NIPT
• You want additional reassurance during pregnancy
• You are pregnant with a single baby or twins
• You have conceived naturally or through IVF or fertility treatment

What’s included

• One blood sample from the expectant mother
• Optional gender detection, if requested
• Results within approximately 7 to 10 working days
• Greater than 99% detection rate for the main conditions screened
• Screens for Down syndrome (Trisomy 21), Edwards syndrome (Trisomy 18), Patau syndrome (Trisomy 13), sex chromosome conditions, and selected additional genetic conditions including key microdeletions

How it works

This test analyses placental DNA in the mother’s bloodstream to assess the likelihood of a wider range of chromosomal abnormalities.

Important information

• A dating scan is required before testing to confirm gestational age
• If you have not already had a scan, this can be arranged separately or booked as a package
• This test is suitable for single and twin pregnancies, including IVF pregnancies
• For twin pregnancies, results apply to the pregnancy overall
• Occasionally, there may not be enough fetal DNA in the sample to issue a result, and a repeat test may be recommended
