• Internal scan may be offered if needed, with your consent

How it works

During pregnancy, small amounts of your baby’s DNA circulate in your bloodstream. This test analyses that DNA to determine your baby’s gender.

Important information

• Pregnancy dates must be confirmed by ultrasound before the test is carried out
• If you have had a scan elsewhere, please bring your scan report or evidence of dates to your appointment
• If you have not yet had a scan, we can arrange one separately before the blood test
• A positive pregnancy test is required before booking

• Confirmation of number of babies
• Visualisation of heartbeat, where detectable

• Blood sample taken from the expectant mother for early gender testing

How it works

Your appointment begins with a 20-minute ultrasound scan to confirm pregnancy location and gestational age. Once dates are confirmed and you are at least 7 weeks pregnant, the blood sample is taken for early gender analysis.

Important information

• A positive pregnancy test is required before booking
• If the scan shows that you are earlier than 7 weeks, the blood draw may need to be delayed until the correct gestation is reached
• This package is designed for early pregnancy dating and early gender testing in the same visit
